Let’s face it: video games are fun. Really, really fun. We all know that playing games by yourself can be great and rewarding, but there is something about playing with your friends that makes gaming all the better. Whether you’re old school and like to play in person or you like to battle against strangers online, we’ve got a little something for everyone.
This article isn’t meant to be a definitive list of the best multiplayer games, because we all know that there are lots and lots of great games out there. Instead, we’ve picked some of our favorite multiplayers currently on the Wii and provided some information about each game to help convince your friends (and you!) to play.
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Super Smash Bros. has always been a favorite game of mine, but it really took off when I purchased the Wii version. This game is just pure fun – no need to worry about boring objectives or win conditions, just get your friends together and beat each other up! If you’ve never played Super Smash Bros., don’t worry; this game is easy to pick up and provides hours of enjoyment. Oh, and did I mention that the game has every Nintendo character you can think of? Even your Mii!
Red Steel 2
I may be a little biased in including Red Steel 2 because it’s my favorite game on the Wii, but this game does have one thing going for it. You can play with up to four people! The Wii remote is ideal for this game because of its motion sensors, so you really feel like you are swinging your sword around. Pick up Red Steel 2 if you enjoy fast paced action games with a little bit of silliness thrown in.
No More Heroes
This is just one of those games that you need to play with friends. It’s a little bit silly, but it’s goofy in the best way possible. The only caveat is that No More Heroes can get kind of weird at times… But if your friends are up for some crazy action, this game will be an absolute blast!
Trauma Team
Trauma Team is a medical simulation game that is great for people who just can’t get enough of games like Surgeon Simulator . Movement and surgery require the use of both hands, so four Wii remotes are recommended. Since you will be using both hands, this game makes it difficult to eat or drink during play! If you’ve ever wanted to be a doctor but don’t want the hassle of school, give Trauma Team a try.
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption
This game is one of my all time favorites for the Wii, and it’s great because you don’t actually need friends to play (unless you’re co-oping). However, if you do have friends, you can play with up to four people at once! Corruption has a great single player campaign that’s worth playing through, but co-oping is always more fun. The Wii controls fit very well with MP3, so if you enjoy first person shooters, definitely give this game a shot.
Wii best games
This game is a great one to play with your family and friends – and this is the only multiplayer platformer available on the Wii! If you’ve played any of the other 2D Marios, you know what to expect: very simple controls get even simpler when you add multiple players. If you like platformers and don’t mind a little “retro” feel, New Super Mario Bros. Wii will be a blast for everyone!
Conclusion
If you haven’t figured it out already, most of the games on this list are pretty silly. Multiplayer gaming is all about having fun with your friends and family, so we decided to pick some of the most entertaining games available for the Wii.
